Overview
It's like a miracle was given to us. That line of iron men somehow pushed back against the rest of the world when we were trapped.
The Sovereign prioritize discipline, training, and skill over numbers, standing in contrast to The Nation’s armies. Their forces are significantly smaller, but each soldier is rigorously trained, evaluated, and equipped.
Technology
Intricate workshops and machines work on assembling weapons, piece by piece. There almost something special about each gun.
- The average Sovereign military unit is more technogically advanced compared to The Nation, deploying semi-automatic rifles, early tactical planes, and standardized radios for coordination.
- Their resources and logistics are limited and small, squeezing out every drop of efficiency
Drafts & Conscription
Understanding the imposing cycle of war, The Sovereign begins training their youth at a young age in firearms and military technology, demanding absolute loyalty. Most coming of age are drafted into the war while a select few stay behind to stay in other sectors such as strategy, logistics, and production.
Supply & Logistics
Fear Management
The Sovereign permanently dishonorably discharges soldiers who show fear or desertion in combat. They are instead reallocated into different sectors such as logistics, strategy, and production.
The Legions
Highly capable soldiers are quickly recognized by the Sovereign, being taken in for evaluation and physical tests. Passing would result in transition to a Legion, specialized military units that is led and housed by multiple Specialists. Legions are often seen as divine intervention, easily turning the tide of a battle.
Legions vary in personnel size and specialize in different aspects of defense. Each one is always deployed as a whole in high stakes holdouts, this has led to the development of immovable camaraderie and coordination. The arrival of one would mean certain preservation of their territory.
Legions have an internal culture of maintaining position no matter the circumstances, but this has also led to defeats wiping out an entire Legion or the death of many personnel, logistically and strategically crippling The Sovereign. Defeated Legions are temporarily disbanded until more elite soldiers are accrued that fit its criteria.
Coat of Arms
Each legion bears a unique and evolving Coat of Arms, composed of symbolic imagery of motifs of the load tattoos of extremely influential specialists and historical events. Each legionnaire has their coat of arms tattooed on a chosen place.
A tattoo is received upon joining a legion, copying the design of the current iteration of the coat of arms. These tattoos are not updated on the person.
Consequently, veterans may bear a much simpler coat of arms compared to fresh members.
Each temporary disbandment leaves a permanent imperfection on the coat of arms.
The coat of arms is only updated after every cycle.
Motifs of load tattoos are only accounted for after the service of said Specialist has ended.
Each legion is dedicated their own burial grounds, with new graves being pre-constructed for every new legionnaire before they ever enter battle. These graves are sectioned off in accordance of cycles, legionnaires who joined during the same cycle are buried together, regardless of when they die.
Counter Specialists Operations
Unlike standard Legions, those that specialize in counter Specialist operations are subdivided into smaller squads each commanded by a Specialist. Defenses are often supported by counter squads before battle begins to defend potential breaches by opposing Specialists or Specialist infiltrations, actively targeting and hunting them down.
