Diffusion
- When a Vestibule is open, it can only diffuse one way at once. The direction of load is determined by the pressure difference. When a Specialist opens their Vestibule with a higher density of Load inside their Chambers compared to the density outside, it causes the Vestibule to diffuse outward naturally, and vice versa.
- Vestibules can be freely opened and closed at will.
- The Load density of the area acts as the ceiling Specialists can fill their Chambers up to.
- Diffusing inward causes the area’s Load density around the Specialist to lower
- Diffusing outward causes the area’s Load density around the Specialist to increase.
- This creates pockets with lower or higher Load Densities temporarily.
- Specific aspects of Load Applications must meet certain criteria before being able to be utilized or activated. Passive aspects activate once above an outward diffusion threshold, ability aspects are activated through instantaneous bursts of outward diffusion. Some passives are biological byproducts and do not require diffusion to activate.
Specialists can diffuse outward forcefully by exerting effort
- A higher rate of diffusion causes a Load Signal and Burden effect that can be sensed further away
- Upon the death of a Specialist, their Chambers gradually compress and collapse outward, diffusing Load back outward into the environment over time.
- Causes pockets of higher Load density
Overburdening
- When a Specialist enters Overburdened land, if the Load density is significantly greater than the size of their Chambers, they receive an empowering effect but physically burn out faster.
- The Load density masks the Load Signals of Specialists, with exception to those with Chambers sizes relative to the density.
